Career Opportunities

Many employment opportunities are available to those graduating with Interior Design degrees. Graduates in Interior Design take jobs as residential Interior Designers, commercial Interior Designers, Facility Managers, furniture specialists, Manufacturer’s Sales Representatives, among others.


NCIDQ - National Council for Interior Design Qualification

After graduating from an accredited program and gaining work experience in certain specified fields for two years full time (minimum of 3,520 hours) you will be eligible to apply to take the NCIDQ exam.

S.A.F.E. INterior Design

Indiana has now joined the growing number of states that require licensing of interior designers. In order to register you must have graduated from an accredited program and pass the NCIDQ exam.


Internship experiences are a very important part of preparing yourself for your first job upon graduation. Students are encouraged to apply for internships opportunities during summer breaks or the school year (as your schedule permits). Faculty provide opportunities for networking with professionals through job-shadowing, field trips and guest speakers in the classroom. Faculty are available, by appointment, to assist in resume and portfolio preparation for internship opportunities.
